Singapouring - 5th June 2011

OMG have we been away for 12 days already... this is going too fast ...

This morning Garry and I got up at 5 am so we could be on deck to watch the sail in to Singapore.  We were waiting to capture a sunrise which didn’t happen.  It is a busy little harbour,  with the smaller boats all around us as we weaved our way in. The skies were really looking ominous ... but this is Singapore and Garry said we might just get a shower...

We were off the boat quick smart and made our way to the MRT and it was not long that we arrived at little India.... No sooner did we reach the street but the heavens opened up.... It poured and poured and Singapoured ..... Garry assured me it is monsoonal and it will pass.  We soon gave up on little India as you couldn’t see a lot whilst running from one awning to another to stay dry.  But we did manage at least one photo of the Temple.  It was really early on a Sunday so alot of the stalls had not opened and we decided it was just too hard so we found a taxi to race us over to Orchard Rd...

We visited Tangs, Lucky Plaza, Far East Plaza and Zara just to keep out of the rain.. and did manage to purchase a couple pairs of shoes...

We then decided to head back to Harbour Town as this rain was still not letting up..... we actually had to walk through water in the subway to get to the MRT lol . In one of photo’s you will notice a lovely bit of Jewellery that I was given to me some Young people raising money. They were making balloon thingo’s for the kids and Garry started filming them ( well they were dry) and I thought I better give them some money for it... and a nice young man came over and placed this flower on my Wrist.

So far we have Planked, Plonked and now Puddled our way around the world.

Once we reached Harbour Town we decided to take a little walk around and ended up taking the cable car and doing quick round trip to Santosa Island just so we could get a film of something without the torrential rain in it.  It was a great vantage point of the ship especially as the Super Star Virgo was parked next to us...

Then it was all hands back on deck 11 for our sail out of Singapour, even the rain did not stop Jen from being up there... see picture...

Last night was another good night at our dinner table and thank you to Ross and Lesley for our wonderful bottle of champagne that we shared with our friends...

Garry’s world cruise Bread Roll Count so far - 40
